How to Create a New Deal in HubSpot (for SmartQuote Users)

This guide explains step by step how to create a new Deal in HubSpot, specifically tailored for the SmartQuote workflow

Why create a Deal?

In HubSpot, Deals help you track sales opportunities and manage your pipeline. For SmartQuote, you must have a Deal set up before you can generate and send quotes.

Important: A Deal must be linked to both a Company and a Contact. Make sure these exist in HubSpot before creating the Deal.


Pre-requisites

✅ The Company is already in HubSpot.
✅ The Contact you want to quote to is already created in HubSpot.

Steps to Create a New Deal

1️⃣ Navigate to the Companies Section

  • In HubSpot, click on Companies in the main navigation menu.


2️⃣ Find the Company

  • Use the search bar to enter the company name.

  • Click the company name (blue hyperlink) to open its record.

💡 Tip: you can use the ATOM Debtor ID, to filter companies for faster access.


3️⃣ Go to Deals in the Company Record

  • In the Company record, find the Deals panel (typically on the right-hand side).

  • Click + Add to create a new Deal.
